Lady Braves Advance to Semifinal Round in 1B Tourney

    The Britton-Hecla girls basketball team stopped Hitchcock-Tulare 46-40 Tuesday night to advance to the semifinal round of the Region 1B tournament on Thursday.

    The fourth-seeded Lady Braves will travel to top-seeded Warner (19-2), a 70-35 quarterfinal winner over Aberdeen Christian.  Warner defeated Britton-Hecla 51-23 on  Jan. 19.

    Number two Leola-Frederick (15-6) will host number three Northwestern (12-9) in the other semifinal.  L-F downed Wilmot 52-35 and Northwestern defeated Langford Area 50-40 in quarterfinal play on Tuesday.

    The semifinal winners will advance to the SoDak 16 to determine the eight Class B state tournament qualifiers.
