Donald L. Beaner Sr., 82, died unexpectedly January 8th, 2024, at the family farm. Funeral mass will begin at 11 AM on Friday, January 19 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. Burial will take place at 2:30 PM at St. Joseph Wellington Cemetery, rural Humboldt, SD. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the family farm, 45366 Highway 42, Parker, SD 3-7 PM with prayer service 5-5:30 PM. Donald was born January 19, 1941, to Leo and Ida (Lambertz) Beaner. He graduated from Parker High School, Class of 1959. Donald married Gloria M. Sechser August 28, 1962. He was a Christian husband and father. Donald was a quiet, humble, hopeful man who was quick to smile and usually whistled while he worked. He sought to help anyone in need, seeing Jesus in everyone he met. He was a passionate steward of the land who dabbled in construction, road work, pole barn sales, truck driving and various other pursuits to supplement his passion for farming. He loved his wife, family, learning new things, and music. Through all pursuits, he endeavored to leave the world a better place for his children and grandchildren.

He was a member of NFO, Knights of Columbus, St Joseph Wellington Parish, and St. Michael Parish.

Donald was loved by his wife Gloria, his children Donald Beaner Jr. (MO) Rosanne Bosch (Omaha, NE,) Carolyn and Chris Kellen (San Tan Valley, AZ,) Timothy and Sara Beaner (Sioux Falls, SD,) Jenell Feller and David Olsen (International Falls, MN,) Monte Feller (Apache Junction, AZ,) Mary and Chris Hollingshead (Sioux Falls, SD,) Dena and Travis Brooks (Spearfish, SD,) John and Jill Beaner (Britton, SD,) Niki Hughes (Rapid City, SD,) Shirley and Kyle Pearson (Council Bluffs, IA,) Joseph Beaner, Joan and Jeff Hess (Parker, SD) and Nancy and Ben Sudtelgte (Bennington, NE,) his 32 grandchildren Denice & Brian, Amy & David, Sr. Missions, James & Rachel, Tegan & Duncan, Kelsey & Lucas, Shaya, Taylor, Joseph & Kayla, Kieren, Austin, Anna, Aaron & Maddi, Brandon, Jenell, Grace & Tim, Sage, Logan, Maria & Tyler, Bennett, Kayden, William, Margaret, Dylan, Collin, John Paul, Nathan, Magnolia, Elizabeth, Emily, Thomas, and Jacob; 9 great-grandchildren Alana, Dylan, Ava, Lilith, Isaac, Dennis, Kelden, Gordon, & Nora; 4 brothers Norman, Wayne, Tom & Larry; and 3 sisters JoAnn, Katherine & Rhoda.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Leo & Ida, his wife Gloria, son Joseph, grandson-in-law David, sisters Katherine and Rhoda and brothers Norman and Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to Wellington Cemetery and St Joseph’s Indian School, Chamberlain, SD.
