LA Senior Hits Milestone

Drop Finale To Warner

Langford Area started slowly against top-ranked and unbeaten Warner in its regular season volleyball finale but gave signs that it could be a tough out in regional play that began last night Tuesday in a 25-9, 2511, 25-16 loss.

The Lady Lions took a 1219 record into a quarterfinal Region 1B tournament game against Hitchcock-Tulare (227) last night Tuesday. The winner of that match will take on the winner of the contest between Britton-Hecla and Northwestern on Thursday.

“We knew going in that it was going to be a tough match,” said LA coach Susan Larson. “We played better as the night progressed. They play a much faster offense than we are accustomed to and I feel like we started to adjust as the game progressed.”

A highlight for Langford Area in the match was senior Bayleann Moen’s 1,000th dig in her prep career. She had 21 in the match to lead her club and also led LA at the service line with 7-9 and three aces. Megan Gustafson had a good night at the net, hitting 23-24 spike attempts and picking up seven kills.
