B-H INTERPERS ADVANCE TO DISTRICTS

Several Britton-Hecla oral interpers competed locally on Monday night for a chance to advance to the district competition in November. Emily Effling won in the Serious Reading category with her selection “Beauty: When the Other Dancer is the Self.” Other competitors in that category were Ruthie Moeckly and Savannah Angstman. Brynlee Patterson’s Storytelling piece “The Perfect Present” will also head to districts. 

In Poetry, Paisley Bray won with her piece “For Mitchell.” Faith Small also competed with a poetry selection. The Duo of Oliver Moeckley and Jerod Nebrida won with “Minimalistic Men.” Other duos included Aiden Strong and Amelia Ingvalson and Charlie Schuller and Liam Paxton. Patterson won the Oratory category with “I Dare You.” Small and Carter Chapin also presented oratories. Braydon Casey won the Humorous category with the selection “Crash Dive.” Other humor pieces were presented by Schuller, Paxton and Zaden Beck. 

A Readers Theater titled "Removing the Glove" will go on to districts as well, including  Carter Chapin, Oliver Moeckly, Braydon Casey, and Jerod Nebrida. 

The district contest will take place in Watertown on Nov. 1.
