LA BOARD APPROVES PLAYGROUND PAY CHANGE ORDER

The Langford Area School Board held their regular meeting on Monday night. The board approved a change order for the playground work in the amount of $8,207. Superintendent Shad Storley noted that had to excavate more of the turf area than expected in addition to having to make the ADA compliant sidewalk higher. Storley added later in the meeting that the new playground equipment is supposed to be shipped in the near future.

The board also approved a contribution to school attorney Rodney Freeman in the amount of $160 to attend the 2023 National Education Law Meeting. A policy was updated regarding how policies are adopted. Per state code, policies may be adopted after one reading if there is general agreement.

In the administration reports, Principal Mary Hosford explained that the initial findings of the special education review was good and they are waiting for their official report. Storley added that the school will have an accreditation review in February.

The next board meeting will be Monday, Nov. 13 at 6:00 pm in the school library.
