LA BOARD RECEIVES GOLD LEVEL AWARD

    The Langford Area Board of Education recently received high honors in a state recognition program.
    The Associated School Board’s of South Dakota Board Recognition Program – Act, Learn, Lead (ALL) is designed to recognize school boards for their dedicated and ethical service to the students of South Dakota. This program will recognize board members’ participation in outside activities, board development and training, and demonstrated leadership at various areas and levels. 
    The Langford Area School Board earned 615 ALL points to reach the Gold level award, which requires 500 points. Ninety public school boards earned an ALL award in the 2022-23 school year, which is the second most in the program’s seven year history, with 39 school boards earning Gold level awards, 24 attaining a Silver level award and 27 reaching the Bronze level award.
    This school year SD has 149 districts. 
    LA Board President Jennifer Gustafson noted that the board has set GOLD status as an annual goal and so far this year have ALL points for silver level already, placing them on target again. 
    Gustafson added, “I appreciate of our board for the demonstrated dedication and commitment to our district.”
