B-H BOARD MEETS

The Britton-Hecla Board of Education held their September meeting last Tuesday.
In staffing matters, contracts were amended to reflect lane change increases of $1000 for Gabrielle Amacher and Sara Jensen. The board accepted and signed contracts returned from Carly Peters and Emily Hrabik. Working agreements were approved for Autumn Trevithick as a para, Emily Folkman as the junior high volleyball coach, and Charles Fuller as a custodian. The board also amended Jenna Peters’ contract to remove History Day Advisor.
An amendment to board meeting procedures was read and adopted pertaining to matters such as open forum. The first reading of a policy change regarding board compensation was also read. The amount board members receive per meeting was incorrectly listed in the current policy.
In Kayla Hastings’s Business Manager’s report, she noted that the cash balance is being closely monitored after the recent big HVAC project and the first annual Coca-Cola donation was received.
In Steve Benson’s superintendent report, he noted that some bus routes were adjusted so kids aren’t picked up as early. He also said HVAC modifications are taking place to make sure everything is in good order.
There was an executive session from 7:41 to 10:03 p.m. for personnel matters.
The next regular board meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 7:00 p.m.
