PATSY L. FOOTE
The funeral service for Patsy L. Foote will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Langford. Diane Hoines will officiate the service. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery of Langford under the direction of the Olson Funeral Chapel.
One hour visitation prior to the service at the church.
Patsy Lou Chapin was born on September 21, 1939 to Myron and Edna (Bush) Chapin in Kidder, SD. She attended all her school in Kidder and graduated from Kidder High School in 1957.
On November 30, 1958 she married her one love, Donald Foote. They were married 57 years before Don’s passing in May 2016. They were blessed with two children, Sandra in 1965 and Steven in 1968. Throughout the years Patsy worked at Swede’s Steakhouse, Langford US Postal Service and Dakotah.
After selling her house she moved into an apartment in Langford. She loved her new “little” home and enjoyed showing it off to everyone. Most Sundays were pizza day with her daughter Sandra. She was so very proud of her family and they meant everything to her. She had pictures all over her room of everyone in her family, including her two newest additions, her greatgrandchildren. Patsy loved to collect bells – any size, shape and from anywhere she could find them. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Langford. In February 2019, she moved to Wheatcrest Hills in Britton.
Patsy’s life revolved around her community, friends and especially her family. Having lived in the NE South Dakota area her entire life, if you were a friend of hers if meant you were a life-long friend, most over numerous decades. She was incredibly proud of her children and their families. She would especially light up when she got to talk to or see her grandchildren and how proud she was that they served their country in uniform. Getting to see her Great Grandchildren was a treat beyond words for her.
Patsy passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Marshall County Healthcare Center in Britton, at the age of 84.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Jeremy Culver) Sell of Langford; her son, Steve (Rhonda) Foote of Loveland, CO; her grandchildren: Nicole (Jared) Embury andAlex (Kaitlynn) Foote; two great-grandchildren: Charlotte Foote and Beau Embury; her brother: Gary Chapin of Sioux Falls, SD; and sisters-inlaw: Lucille (Jack) Green of Sioux Falls, Dorthy (Gerald) Schneider of Britton and Anna Jean Foote of Britton.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald, and son-in-law, Ron Sell.
