LA Progressing Despite Skid

The Langford Area volleyball squad dropped six matches in the past week and saw its’ losing skid grow to eight, but Coach Susan Larson continues to see progress from her club.

Britton-Hecla freshman Daniel Person led this group of runners up a hill in the Region 1B meet held in Webster on Thursday. Person finished 20th to advance to the state meet in Sioux Falls at Yankton Trail Park on Saturday with rce time set for 1:30 p.m.

Britton-Hecla junior Tynan Bennett brought home plenty of hardware from the 23rd Annual Dixie Grand American Trap Shoot in Bostic, NC, held Sept. 28-Oct. 3. Bennett won seven individual titles in a f ield of over 300 shooters.

The Britton-Hecla volleyball squad had a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde type of week, turning in a top performance in a straight-set sweep over Waubay-Summit last week Tuesday and then not having much go right against Milbank on Thursday in a straight-set loss.

Rivalry Resumes Thursday

Britton-Hecla’s Luke Storley found some running room against Waverly-South Shore on Friday. The Braves host Langford Area in an intra-county battle on Thursday at 7 p.m.
