Things Falling Into Place
Things are starting to fall into place for a young Britton-Hecla gymnastics team.
“Both the JV and varsity had strong meets in the last week,” said B-H coach Angela Grupe. “We have been working for most of this season and last for some skills that are now starting to fall into place. Over the next month prior to postseason we will finish up the last layer of skills and focus on consistency. We have not had a full week with every gymnast yet, and I look forward to the point of having all 10 grade 7-12 athletes to work at a postseason run. We are excited to see what we can accomplish in the month of January.”
Sterling Mertens hit the qualifying mark for the third time on vault and is now state qualified in that event. She finished second all-around at Aberdeen, also placing second on bars and vault and third on beam and in floor exercise. Taylor Storbakken was fourth on beam.
