Pool Opening Delayed
The Britton City Council delayed the opening of the swimming pool but relaxed restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic at the public library and Britton Area Event Center at its regular meeting on Monday.
Normally the swimming pool opens on June 1, but because the city does not currently have a pool manager the opening date has been pushed back to Monday, June 15. Six certified lifeguards are currently on staff, along with three other applicants, but the lack of training available because of the virus may not permit those applicants to become certified.
The Event Center has been closed and the public library has only been allowing books to be picked up at the door and not allowing anyone but staff in the building. That has now changed.
