The Britton-Hecla cheerleaders hosted a Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) camp at the Britton-Hecla arena on Aug. 12-13. Harmony Mertens and Emma Storley were chosen as UCA All-American Cheerleaders based on their cheering, dancing, and jumping abilities.

Lions Roar Past North Border

The Langford Area football squad took a 16-0 lead against North Border in the first period on Friday and then exploded for 30 points in the second stanza on the way to its first win of the season 59-14.

Coach Paul Raasch’s club, now 1-1, hosts Ipswich-Edmunds Central for homecoming on Friday at 7 p.m.

“We will look to keep the momentum going against Ipswich/EC,” stressed Raasch. “They have a nice team and are off to a good start this year. It’s a big game for us in the playoff picture and in the Lake Region Conference, and it’s also homecoming, so we want to play well.”
