Lions Get Home Game

Rematch With Herreid-Selby

Langford Area tuned up for the first round of the Class 9 B playoffs by exploding for 45 first half points on the way to a 59-20 victory over Waverly-South Shore on Friday.

The Lions finished their regular season with a 6-2 mark and will host Herreid-Selby (6-2) in the opening round of the playoffs at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Herreid-Selby defeated Langford Area 24-22 in the season opener for both clubs.

Langford Area is ranked number two in power points in Region 1 behind top-seeded Wolsey-Wessington (6-2). Herreid-Selby holds down the third spot, and Faulkton (4-4) is ranked fourth and will play at Wolsey. Hitchcock-Tulare (3-5) also earned an at-large playoff berth from Region 1, the only region with five teams that advanced to postseason play.
