Lions Fall In 9B Opener

Top-ranked Wolsey-Wessington jumped out to a 30-0 halftime lead and blanked Langford Area 44-0 in first round play of the Class 9B football playoffs in Wolsey on Friday.

The game had originally been scheduled for Thursday but was postponed a day due to winter weather conditions.

Langford Area finished with a 6-3 season mark. Wolsey-Wessington stands at 7-1 and will host Corsica-Stickney (5-4) in quarterfinal action on Thursday.
