Britton-Hecla’s only senior, Emma Storley, put up a shot in recent girls basketball action. Storley led the Braves in her final game with 14 points in the first round of the regional tournament on Monday.
Lady Braves Season Ends In First Round Of Region
With low numbers and just three high school players, the Britton-Hecla girls basketball team knew it would be in for a challenging season, but despite finishing 1-20, Coach MJ Hrabik has nothing but respect for what his girls accomplished.
Great Plains Lutheran, 4-17, downed the Lady Braves 56-35 in the first round of the Region 1B tournament in Webster on Monday to end their season. Regional play continued last night Tuesday. Semifinal contests will be played at the Aberdeen Civic Arena on Thursday beginning at 6 p.m.
“Our season didn’t finish as we had wanted it to end, but we have to keep in mind the bigger picture,” stressed Hrabik. “Many teams that face adversity would probably have hung up the towel long ago, but our team seemed like it never wanted this season to end.
