LA Thinclads Set Marks
The Langford Area track team finally was back in action after nearly a three-week layoff and the result was a pair of school records.
At the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls last weekend Addyson Dwight broke the school record in the 400-meter dash with a clocking of 1:00.94, finishing 15th overall and qualifying for the state meet. She also teamed up with Chesney Olson, Brooklin Kreger, and Ashley Gustafson to set a new school mark in the 1600-meter relay with a 4:21.46 effort, good for a 13th place finish.
Boys’ standout Chance Olson also didn’t seem to miss Britton-Hecla’s Laken Olson curled around the high jump bar at the Orville Pfitzer Relays held on Tuesday. The B-H senior has qualified for the state meet. Nick Halverson of Salt Lake City, Utah, and, right, the grandson of Dr. Lee Johnson, left, carded a hole-in-one on the eighth hole at the Britton Country Club on Tuesday. a beat. He bettered his season marks in the 100-meter dash with an 11.39 effort, and also posted his best long jump of the season at 20-4.49.
