Langford Area junior Ady Dwight scored her 1,000th career point during the Lady Lions’ win over Wessington Springs on Saturday in Redfield.

Dwight Hits 1,000th Point

Langford Area junior Ady Dwight had 31 points and 15 rebounds and scored the 1,000th point of her prep career to lead the Lady Lions to a 59-25 victory over Wessington Springs in a Holiday Classic girls basketball contest in Redfield on Saturday.

Coach Michael Alberts squad led by 11 at halftime and then outscored Wessington Springs 19-6 in the third period to take charge and boost its season mark to 5-2. The Lady Lions traveled to Eureka-Bowdle last night Tuesday and host Groton Area next Tuesday. LA had been scheduled to play at Britton-Hecla on Friday but that contest has been rescheduled to Feb. 15.

“Overall, we played a pretty good game,” said Alberts. “We started the game out really well, but then had a slow second quarter. We got in a little foul trouble and I don’t think
