Braves Win Double Overtime

The old saying ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going,’ applied to the Britton-Hecla football team’s 36-34 double overtime victory over long-time rival Clark-Willow Lake on Friday night.

“I was very happy with how our guys fought through adversity over the course of the game,” said first-year coach Jacob Skogstad. “We had some guys go down with cramps, but everyone that came into the game really stepped up in a huge way. I would say the aspect of our game that I was most pleased about was our ability to fight for everything. This team has no quit in them.”

The Braves, now 2-0 on the season, have a date with unbeaten Hamlin (3- 0) this Friday. The Chargers are ranked third in the Class 9AA state media poll.
