Braves Earn Top Seed in Class 9A

Host Ipswich-Edmunds Central Thursday

Britton-Hecla’s football team has earned the number one overall seed ranking in Class 9A for the first time in school history and will host Ipswich-Edmunds Central in a first round playoff game on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Braves, now 7-0 after handing Warner just its second loss of the season on Friday, posted their second straight perfect regular season and have won 28 of their last 29 games. Coach Pat Renner’s squad lost to Hamlin before winning 11 straight on its way to the 2017 state championship and won 21 straight before losing to Howard in the semifinal matchup a year ago.
