B-H Gymnasts State-Bound
The Britton-Hecla gymnastics team is returning to the state meet for the first time in four years.
The top nine Class A teams in regional competition last Thursday advanced to the state meet in Watertown this Friday, and the Lady Braves finished in the ninth spot. In addition, five local gymnasts qualified in nine events for the individual competition which this year will be held in conjunction with the team meet.
“I’m proud of this young bunch as they worked hard all year and we achieved our goal of getting back to the state meet as a team,” said B-H coach Angela Grupe. “We had many long practices and gained so much difficulty this year. These girls deserve this state trip because they earned it. It was a tough year with no summer activities due to COVID and many format changes to get used to, but my team responded so well and was up for each challenge presented along the way.”
