Britton-Hecla junior Trevor Zuehlke was closing in on a Dakota Hills runner Matt Amdahl from his linebacker position in Friday’s 40-20 Braves’ victory. Zuehlke topped the tackle chart with six stops, ran for 139 yards from his quarterback spot and passed for 97, scored one touchdown rushing, and passed for three more.

B-H Grid Squad Stays Perfect

Hosts Chester Friday

The Britton-Hecla football team trailed for the first time this season against Dakota Hills (Waubay, Summit, Wilmot) on Friday but proceeded to score 26 straight points on the way to a 40-20 victory.

The Braves, ranked third in the state in Class 9A, remain unbeaten at 6-0 heading into their final home contest of the regular season against Chester on Friday. Game time is a half hour early at 6:30 p.m. B-H wraps up regular season play at Warner on Friday, Oct. 18.

Chester sports a 2-4 record and the two clubs have not played any common opponents. Two of the Flyers’ losses have come to top-rated teams, falling to secondranked Canistota-Freeman 44-0 and to fourth-rated Howard 50-0.
