The funeral service for Virginia Lynn Likness, 79, of Aberdeen, was held on Tuesday, November 26, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, Aberdeen, with Pastor Gary Wileman officiating. Burial will be at Nedaros Cemetery, Veblen, at a later date. Virginia died on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen.

Virginia Lynn Likness was born on December 8, 1939, to Lawrence and Vivian (Langford) Likness, in Veblen. She grew up on the family farm near Veblen. Virginia lived in Redfield, for several years before moving to Aberdeen. She was employed by Aspire there.

Virginia was a member of Aberdeen First Assembly of God. She enjoyed hanging out with her best friend Lorraine at the Red Rooster, thrift store shopping, and getting their hair done every Friday. One of her favorite things to do was to show off the deals she found. Whenever she was given the choice of where to eat out, she would want to go to Burger King. Virginia loved her family and visiting with others.

Grateful for having shared Virginia’s life are her sister Marjorie Hagenson, Britton; her nieces and nephews, Jan Likness, Greg Likness, Pam Likness, Cheryl Likness, Mary Ellen Hackbart, Bruce Likness, Jamie Hansen, Cory Stabnow, Claudine Hluchy, Reed Stabnow, Steve Hagenson, and Michael Hagenson; her brother-in-law, Dean Stabnow; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Likness.

Preceding Virginia in death are her parents, Lawrence and Vivian Likness; her siblings, Lawrence T. Likness, David Likness, Bruce Likness, and Betty Stabnow; her niece Renéé Brandriet; and her nephew, Jeffrey Likness.
