TIMOTHY “TIM” JACOBSEN

The memorial service for Timothy “Tim” Jacobsen will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the First Presbyterian Church of Britton. Rev. Sara Sorensen will officiate. Coffee and cookies will be served in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Inurnment of his ashes will be in the Evergreen Cemetery of St. Edward, NE, on May 11, after a memorial service there.

Timothy Eldon Jacobsen was born on November 9, 1950, to Eldon and Marilyn (Gloor) Jacobsen. He was the oldest of four children and received his basic education at District 27 in Platte County. Following his graduation from St. Edward High School in 1968, he attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, majoring in Engineering. The next several years he spent working for manufacturing companies in Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota. At the time of this death, he was employed with Horton in Britton.

In August 1971, he married Donna Munsinger. To this union two children were born: Christopher and Carol Sue.

In July 1993 he married Marcine Loeffler Ellis to whom he was still married at the time of his death in an auto accident, on November 18, 2018. Tim loved farming, hunting, fishing, gardening, golf and Nebraska football.

He never had an enemy and made friends with everyone he met. He was a Mason, a Shriner, and was serving as President of the Britton, South Dakota Chapter Lion’s Club.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Marcine; children, Christopher Jacobsen and Debra; Carol Esquibel; Misty Peaslee and Michelle; four grandchildren, Joshua Esquibel and Sierra; Nikole Lucero and Andrew; Aaron and Andrew Jacobsen; six great-granddaughters; along with numerous nephews and nieces and a multitude of friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Eldon and Marilyn Jacobsen.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Lions Club, PO Box 335, Britton, SD, 57430.
