MARTY CRAIG BINGER
A graveside service for Marty Craig Binger will be Sunday, July 24, 2022, at 3:30pm at the Britton Cemetery. Marty Craig Binger passed away in Sierra Vista, AZ on November 22, 2021, at the age of 69. A small service was held in Willcox, AZ at the time of his death.
Marty was born in Redfield, SD on November 23, 1951, to Harvey and Florice (Arneson) Binger. Marty attended school in LaDelle, SD and Doland, SD before his family moved to Britton where he attended school until the age of 18 when he joined the United States Navy. Marty was proud of his time in the Navy and completed two tours on the USS Midway during the Vietnam War. On December 11, 1976, in Claremont, SD, Marty married Kathy Larson and of this marriage his sons Waylon Craig and Lucas Robert were born.
Marty worked at Hortons in Britton for 25+ years with his last position being a Project Manager. He was then employed at Tekawitha Nursing Center in Sisseton, SD as Maintenance Manager and Purchaser until his retirement. Marty loved living on Clear Lake in Lake City, SD. Marty whittled on diamond willow branches making several canes as he enjoyed the scenery. In his younger years, he loved hunting and fishing with family and friends. As time passed, he had a desire to move to warmer winters in Willcox, AZ and be closer to his granddaughter Brylee and was later blessed with his second granddaughter Tatum. He so loved them and they have many memories of their Grandpa Marty.
Marty was a member of the United Methodist Church, the American Legion and the VFW in Britton. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #2131 in Willcox, AZ.
Surviving Marty are his wife Kathy of Willcox, AZ, his sons Waylon (Melissa) Binger of Astoria, OR and Lucas (Shari) Binger of Willcox, AZ and his loving granddaughters Brylee and Tatum. His surviving siblings are Dallas (Judy) Binger, Ronald (Jean) Binger, Kathy (Ron) Symens and brother-in-law Bill Smart as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marty in death are his parents Harvey and Florice Binger, sister Roxanne Smart, his in laws Bob and Clarice Larson, brother-in-law Doug Larson and his nephew Robert Larson, Jr.
