Marion Bohn, 79 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018, at the Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls, with her family by her side.
Her funeral service was held today, Wednesday, November 7, at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Claire City, SD. Burial was at Claire City Community Cemetery.
Marion Clarice Bohn was born on January 4, 1939, to Emil and Maria (Helmer) Willprecht at Forman, ND. She attended country school for three years and then moved to Lidgerwood, ND. She was baptized at Havana Lutheran Church and confirmed at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She graduated in 1957 from Lidgerwood High School.
On July 2, 1960, she married Vic Sukut. They had two sons, Chuck and Wade. Vic passed away in May 1971. On August 15, 1974, she married Lowell Bohn. They had one son, Brett. Lowell passed away in September 1984.
Marion worked as a waitress, clerk at Red Owl, bartender, at Alco, and was director of the Sisseton Senior Center since 1989.
She loved cooking, especially for her family. Her sons were her life. She was known for helping people with anything and she loved animals.
She loved poetry and even wrote one for today:
Though I did not want to leave you, I’m not far away. If you keep my memory in your heart, then there I’ll always stay. I will look down upon you from my new home above And I will watch over you and send down all my love.
Marion is preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; husbands, Vic Sukut and Lowell Bohn; beloved son Chuck; a sister Emily; and five brothers, Ernie, Wayne, John, Kenneth, and Darrel; in-laws, John and Clara Sukut, Alfred and Hilda Bohn; sister-in-law, Eileen.
She is survived by her sons, Wade and Brett; brothers, Virgil (Emmy), Harvey, and Lyle (Leona); sister-inlaw, Bette Jean (Gene) Gange; granddaughter, Sonja; and many nieces and nephews.
And to those that survived her she wanted me (Wade) to tell you she loved you all very much.
