Larry Paul Knebel was born July 28, 1946, in Webster to Daniel John and Minda Amanda (Olson) Knebel. He grew up in Roslyn, where he began his education. In 1964, he graduated from New Effington High School. He continued his education at Northern State College in Aberdeen, graduating there in 1969. On August 1, 1994, he was united in marriage with Regina Margaret (Southmayd) Wegleitner. They lived in Dell Rapids while Larry worked as a pharmacy technician in Sioux Falls, a job he truly enjoyed. They retired to Pickerel Lake before moving to Watertown, where they have spent the past five years. Larry had a love and affinity for everything that grew. He was an avid gardener with a specialty for growing flowers. When he was not busy re-working or adding to his landscaping, Larry could be found working with wood. He also had a genuine fondness for animals. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Regina Knebel of Watertown; his step-children, Alan (Lisa) Wegleitner of Flower Mound, TX, David “Butch” (Shannon) Wegleitner of Lake City, Danny (Cathy) Wegleitner of Lake City, and Larry (Linda) Wegleitner of Huron; nine step-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; a sister, LaVonne (Vic) Carlson of Aberdeen; two brothers, Duane (Dianne) Knebel of Watertown and Dale Knebel of Lake City; and a number of nieces, nephews, and their families.
