Visitation will be one hour preceding the funeral at the church on Monday.

Francis passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Four Seasons Healthcare Center in Forman at the age of 84.

Francis Lee Maly was born on September 6, 1934, in Forbes, ND, to Frank and Lyla (Fuller) Maly. At the age of two, he moved with his family to the Havana, ND, area where he grew up and attended school. In 1952, Francis graduated from Havana High School and began farming.

On February 17, 1958, he was united in marriage with Rozilla Bernice Morris at Britton. They moved to Toole, UT, where they lived for a few years and began their family. In 1962 they returned to the Havana area and Francis was again engaged in farming. Eventually, Francis took over the family farm and they continued to live there until selling and retiring. While farming, Francis also started driving the Star Route for the Post Office, a job he continued after moving to Havana. In 2006 they moved to Forman. Rozilla passed away on August 7, 2010. Francis has made his home at Four Seasons in Forman for the past couple of years.

In his younger years, Francis greatly enjoyed fishing and would often take the family along. He was an avid card player and particularly enjoyed pinochle. Perhaps his greatest love of all was watching his boys and grandchildren play softball and baseball.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Pat Maly of Denver, CO, Kenneth Shellie McMasters) Maly of Chinook, MT, and Kevin (Wendy) Maly of Forman, ND; his daughter-in-law, Betty Maly of Forman, ND; five grandchildren, Tiffaney (Mike) Allen of St. Paul, MN, Kristy (Ryan) Scepaniak of Aberdeen, Jesse (Bobbi Jo) Maly of Havana, ND, MacKenzie Maly of Rutland, ND, and Evan Maly of Rutland, ND; five greatgrandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; and a son, Francis Lee “Franny” Maly, Jr.

The Price Funeral Chapel of Britton was in charge of Francis’ arrangements.

Condolences may be directed to the family in care of Betty Maly, 105 3rd St. SW, Forman, ND 58032.
