ERNA (HEINRICH) WOLF

Erna (Heinrich) Wolf, 87, of Aberdeen, formerly of Hecla, passed away on June 22, 2019, at Bethesda Home in Aberdeeen.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 1-2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at Hecla United Methodist Church in Hecla.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Erna Gladys Fischer was born on August 19, 1931, to Gottlieb and Pauline (Frey) Fischer near White River, SD. When Erna was two, the family moved to the Forbes, ND, area. This is the area where Erna grew up.

Erna married Gottfried Heinrich on August 31, 1954, and to this union three children were born: Rodney, Marsha, and Jeff. Erna and Gottfried lived in Ellendale before moving to Hecla in 1962. Gottfried died in a car accident in September 1969.

Erna continued to live in Hecla until September 1974 when she married William (Bill) Wolf and moved to Aberdeen, where she cooked at Dakota Midland Hospital. In 1982, Erna and Bill retired and moved to Yuma, AZ. During her retirement, Erna also lived in Coeur d’Alene, ID; Rapid City, SD; Britton, SD; and eventually moved back to Hecla.

Erna moved into Bethesda Home in Aberdeen in September 2016. Erna truly loved living at Bethesda; she enjoyed the activities, socialization and the caring staff.

Erna enjoyed playing cards, gardening (and all the canning that went with it), cooking, and sewing. Erna especially loved her grandchildren.

Erna is survived by her children, Rod (Kathy) Heinrich of Hecla, Marsha McComis of Parma Heights, OH, and Jeff Heinrich of Britton; grandchildren Kyle (Nicole) Heinrich, Andrew (Theresa) Heinrich, Cole (Jami) Heinrich, and Adam (Ashley) Heinrich, Marissa (Jonah Pelton) McComis, James Thomas, Jason Heinrich, Leslie Heinrich, and Kristi (Nick Stenvold) Heinrich; 13 greatgrandchildren, one brother Darrold Fischer, Rapid City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Erna was preceded in death by husbands Gottfried and Bill; infant grandson Scott Heinrich; son-in-law Bill McComis; her parents; and siblings, Alvin Fischer, Alice Holweger, Marvin Fischer, Millie Hanson, Lucille Wolf, and Vi Rath.

In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials be given to the Hecla United Methodist Church, Hecla, SD.
