Donald C. Johnson, 88, Fargo, ND, died on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, in Sanford Health, Fargo.
A visitation for Don will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, from 6 until 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7, in Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, West Fargo, ND.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m., also in Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church West.
Donald Clark Johnson, the son of Harvey R. and Mary M. (Herr) Johnson, was born in Oakes, ND, on April 3, 1931. The family moved to a farm near Britton, where Don grew up. He graduated from high school in Webster. From April 1953 to April of 1956, Don served his county in the US Army.
On June 21, 1958, Don was united in marriage to Melva Nygaard, in Webster. They made their home near Britton, where they farmed. In June of 1985, the moved to West Fargo, ND, and in 2013, to Moorhead. Don worked in research and development for a West Fargo, ND, manufacturing company. He retired in April of 2000. In May of 2019, he became a resident of Bethany of 42nd Street in Fargo.
Don’s Christian faith was an important part of his life. He lived out and shared his love of the Lord, and his warm smile with many.
Don is survived by his wife, Melva, Fargo; two daughters, Lila (Roy) Hervey, Grand Forks, ND, and Lori (Greg) Krause, Hawley, MN; a sister, Delores (Stan) Thompson, Oxford, Iowa; a brother, Walton Johnson, Bristol; grandchildren, Jamin Krause, Hannah (Joel) Witthoeft, Sarah Hervey, and Sam Hervey; and two great-grandchildren.
