Ann Neiber, 89 of Veblen, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020, at Marshall County Health Care Center, Britton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 7, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. followed by the funeral mass at 1:30 p.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Geneseo, ND. Burial will be at St. Martin’s Cemetery, Geneseo, ND. Fr. Peter Anderl will officiate.

Ann Pauline Neiber was born on December 11, 1930, at rural Cayuga, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Julia (Bauch) Slabik. She grew up on the farm and attended school in Geneseo, ND, and graduated from Lidgerwood High School. After graduation she worked in Wahpeton, ND.

On September 24, 1949, she was united in marriage to Jerome Neiber in Wahpeton, ND. Ann and Jerry lived in Wahpeton and Oakes, ND, before moving to Veblen, where she worked at Dakotah in Veblen. Jerry passed away on October 6, 2014, and she continued to live in Veblen.

Ann enjoyed sewing and quilting, and made many quilts. She also made banners for the church. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church Altar Society, Veblen, for many years, and the Veblen Senior Citizens.

Ann is survived by a son, Paul Neiber (Cookie), Aurora, CO; daughters, Sharon Kinsala, Park River, ND, Julie Neiber, Aberdeen, and Carol Neiber, Huron; daughter-in-law, RoxAnne Neiber, Aberdeen; nine grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren; and one greatgreat-granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; sons, Richard and Mike; brothers, Frank, Lawrence, Joseph, Jr. and Peter; sisters, Albina Lawnicki, Elizabeth Neiber, Victoria Novak, Dorothy Slabik, Monica Bombeck, Mary Kratcha, and Barbara Wacha.
