Youth Can Be Leaders Today

(Editor’s Note: Claremont native and 2020 Langford Area graduate Ashley Gustafson, now a sophomore Political Science student at the University of South Dakota, submitted this account of her involvement in South Dakota politics and stressed that young people are not only leaders of tomorrow but can be leaders of today.)

Road Work Okayed

The Marshall County Commission approved a couple of road projects at its regular meeting on Tuesday. A bid from Bituminous Paving, Inc., was approved for chip sealing on County Roads 09AN, 04AC, and 07AN for $935,018.20. Jensen Rock & Sand also submitted a bid of $942,500.87.

Bien Ranch Earns Recognition

Senior NSU music student Eduardo Mendoza Reyes-Ortiz gave a recent high energy presentation about Bolivian culture and music to K-12 students at Langford Area School. One of the highlights was student volunteers playing percussion instruments and Booker Hardy helped out by playing the bass drum.
