Once Students And Now The Teachers

Next week is Teacher’s Appreciation Week. Journal Country is filled with amazing teachers. One notable group teaching at Britton-Hecla is the large number of alumni that is on staff. 15 certified staff members are former Britton or B-H graduates. “I can’t imagine teaching or raising my children anywhere else,” emphasized Britton-Hecla English teacher Jenna Peters. Peters said this when discussing why she chose to teach in the school district she graduated from 20 years ago. She and many others in the district are part of a noteworthy trend of Britton and Britton-Hecla graduates who have returned to the area as educators.

Feldhaus Among SDSU’s “Best” Engineering Club

For the second year in a row and the fourth time in school history, the best student chapter nationwide of the American Society of Civil Engineers belongs to South Dakota State University.

B-H and LA Best & Brightest Honored

Two local students were honored among the states Best and Brightest. The students were recognized recently at an event in Pierre and were photographed with Governor Kristi Noem and Lt. Gov. Larry Rhoden Above, Erika Symens, Britton-Hecla senior and the daughter of Stephanie and Warren Symens, was honored among her class. Below, Montana Marlow, Langford Area senior and the daughter of Gina and Travis Marlow, was the other local honoree.
