The 24th Annual American Cancer Association Relay for Life is ready, set, go for this weekend, Saturday, June 10. It will be held at Britton-Hecla School Arena. The event starts at 2:30 p.m. with survivor registration beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Since 1978, during the first full weekend in June, cavalry troops and infantry units have converged on the grounds of Fort Sisseton for the state park’s Historical Festival.
This rendering for work to the Britton baseball/ softball fields shows a version of plans to improve the area. It includes improved concessions and concourse, playground, seating, walking areas, lighting and the overall aesthetics including landscape, design and most importantly community accessibility. The board notes that this is one idea rather than a finalized plan.

One of Britton’s long-trusted financial institutions is in the midst of a significant ‘changing of the guard.’ Norstar Federal Credit Union has hired their next President/CEO as Jane Duerre, who has held that position to this point, official retires this week. Jay Kruse is taking over the helm of the ship.
