The Britton City Council passed the first reading of an ordinance that would call for rejecting any application to market medical marijuana in the city until state regulations are determined at its regular meeting on Monday.
Monte and Dawn Nipp are retiring from the Langford Area School District effective June 30. Monte spent 21 years as superintendent of the school and Dawn was the business manager for six years.
All one needed to do to observe the impact that Monte and Dawn Nipp have had on the Langford Area School was to go to a parade.

Langford Area School District voters will go to the polls on Tuesday to elect two members to the school board.
The Britton Swimming Pool opened for the season last week Wednesday and with this week’s summer-like temperatures it was a popular spot. The mercury topped out at 101 degrees on Saturday and was in the 90’s on four other occasions in the past week.
