Those Wonderful Ringnecks

Those Wonderful Ringnecks

I began hunting pheasant at the age of 12 in 1952 in Yankton County on my Uncle Dick’s farm north of the Mayfield Store, north of Yankton. I shot one bird. I was hooked. My Aunt Ella gave me a box of 25 shells and she told me, “I expect you to bring me 25 pheasants from the farm”. Since then, I’ve hunted pheasants in every county east of the Missouri River and most of them along the West side along the river.
