First Graders Talk Turkey

Members of the Britton-Hecla first grade classes came up with some creative turkey recipes in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday.

How to Cook a Turkey

Mrs. Vrchota’s First Grade

Rylie Armour: First go to Menards. Next, put stuff around it. Then, put it in the oven. Cook at a little bit hot so it doesn’t burn for 1 minute. Serve with leaves and tomatoes.

Jackson Baker: First, get turkey in the woods. Next, skin it. Then, clean it and soak it. Cook at 1,800 degrees for 2 million minutes. Serve with lots of carrots, mashed potatoes, and pie.

Bennett Beck: First, buy it at Walmart.

Next, cook it. Then, you gobble it up. Cook at 10 degrees for 3 seconds. Serve with ketchup smiley faces on it.

Bolzer: First, buy a turkey. Next, cook it. Then, take all the feathers off. Cook at 6 degrees for 7 minutes. Serve with salad and bacon.

Boyko: First, catch the turkey. Next, put it in a pot. Then, boil some water. Cook at 5 degrees for 1 minute. Serve with pumpkin pie.

Knox Brennan: First, get turkey at a farm. Next, cook it. Then, take it to the table. Cook at hot for 15 minutes. Serve with salad.

Corbin Dawson: First, get turkey from the store or shoot it. Next, you cut it up. Then, spray pan and cook it. Cook at 2 degrees for 5 minutes. Serve with pepper.

Easton Eimers: First, wash your hands. Next, get a turkey at store. Then, get out a pan. Cook it. Cook at 8 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve with corn, vegetables, mac and cheese.

Avery Leonard: First, kill the turkey. Next, take feathers off. Then, bake. Cook at 12 degrees for 10 hours. Serve with corn, potatoes, sandwiches—in case someone doesn’t like turkey.

Eli Medina: First, buy it. Next, bake it. Then, put in oven. Cook at 79 degrees for 4 minutes. Serve with French fries.

Levi Mills: First, get it out of the bag. Next, cook it. Then, take it out of the oven. Cook at 12 degrees for 13 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn.

Gabriel Morales: First, we grab it with our hands. Next, grab a knife and kill the turkey. Then, put it in the oven. Cook at 50 degrees for six minutes. Serve with a knife and spoon.

Yadid Ortega-Quezada: First, take off the feathers. Next, cook it. Then, eat it. Cook at 48 degrees for 10 minutes. Serve with chilli, BBQ sauce.

Sophie Patterson: First, buy your turkey from a store or shoot it. Next, bring it home. Then, cook it. Cook at 60 degrees for 3 hours. Serve with a plate.

Liam Peters: First, cut it. Next, put it in the oven. Then, eat it. Cook at 100 degrees for 1 minute. Serve with potatoes.

Justin Rath: First, put it in oven. Next, take it out to cool. Then, eat it. Cook at 90 degrees for 90 seconds. Serve with ham.

Ava Stark: First, get turkey from the field. Next, we cook it. Then, we get everything ready. Cook at 90 degrees for 90 hours. Service with grapes and watermelon.

Maverick Strong: First, take off the legs. Next, cook the legs. Then, take out the bones. Cook at 50 degrees for two minutes. Serve with corn, pizza.

Madalyn Sunderland: First, put some pepper and salt on it. Next, get a plate ready. Then, cook it. Cook at 10 degrees for 13 minutes. Serve with milk and juice, dessert.

Tanasia Tisher: First, cook it. Next, take the stuff out of it. Then, eat it. Cook at 20 degrees for 10 minutes. Serve with ketchup.

Breydan Quinn: First, invite a lot a people. Next, set the table. Then, kill the turkey, take off skin, put in oven, cut it up, put on a plate. Cook at 100 degrees for 100 minutes. Serve with pumpkin pie, vegetables, applesauce, an apple.

Mrs. Furman’s First Grade

Holden Malpert: First, I will go hunting for a turkey. Next, clean it up and take the head off. Then, put salt and pepper on it and put it in a pan. Cook at 90 degrees for 99 minutes. Serve with everything.

Ella Schuster: First, go buy a turkey at the store. Next, put it in a pan with some salt. Then, put it in the oven. Cook at 30 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve with soup.

Elizabeth Angstman: First, buy a turkey. Next, cook it. Then, cover it with a napkin. Cook at 4 degrees for 200 minutes. Serve with lettuce.

Brooklyn Hunt: First, get a turkey. Next, put it in the oven. Then, put mitts on to take it out. Cook at 5 degrees for 2 sec. Serve with mashed potatoes.

Kylan Sasker: First, you hunt for it. Next, cut all the skin off and clean. Then, cook it. Cook at 30 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve with sandwiches.

Cooper Elsen: First, shoot the turkey. Next, get the meat and wash it. Then, cook it. Cook at 2 degrees for 3 hours. Serve with bbq sauce.

Jarrik Jones: First, get turkey from store. Next, I cook it so it’s warm. Then, I eat it. Cook at warm oven degrees for how long Mom says. Serve with salad.

Mia Kilker: First, go hunting for a turkey. Next, bring it home. Then, put it in a pan. Cook at 40 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes and corn.

Adalynn Schmieg: First, you need to buy a turkey. Next, cook it. Then, put it on a plate. Cook at 50 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve with strawberries.

Jazzlyn Pearson: First, get turkey from store. Next, cook it. Then, stuff it. Cook at medium degrees for 25 minutes. Serve with a plate.

Brady Heitkamp: First, you get a turkey from a store. Next, wash it off and put some seasoning on it. Then, cook it. Cook at 50 degrees for 12 minutes. Serve with stuffing and pie.

Avery Dalstein: First you buy your turkey at the store. Next, put it in a pan with potatoes. Then, put it in the oven and cook it and cook it. Cook at 31 degrees for 51 minutes. Serve with milk and juice.

Seth Schultz: First, go buy a turkey at the store. Next, put pepper and pepperonies on it. The, put it in the smoker grill. Cook at 10,000 degrees for 5 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes.

Easton Zuehlke: First, put it in the oven. Next, put it on a plate. Then, cut it up. Cook at 5 degrees for 60 minutes. Serve with butter.
