Area Towns Plan Holiday Activities

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Area communities are decorated and planning special activities in their towns during this holiday season.

Langford will host its annual Santa Day on Friday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. at the Langford Legion. There will be crafts for kids, cookies, hot chocolate, coffee, drawings for turkeys and hams, along with a visit from Santa.

Cogswell, ND, will hold Santa Day at the community building on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 4 p.m. There will be bingo, potluck supper, and Santa.

Come sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what you want for Christmas at the Marshall County Courthouse from 2-4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30. There will be door prizes drawn at 3:45 and treats for kids in every office. Bring your camera for a picture with Santa.

Visit Havana, ND, Dec. 1, for its annual Santa Claus Day. There will be a community potluck supper at 5 p.m. at the Civic Center, followed by bingo, cake walk, door prizes, and drawings for turkeys. Santa is scheduled to visit at about 6 p.m.

Hecla has planned their 10th Annual (and final) Cookie Walk and craft fair to be held Sunday, Dec. 2, from 12-3 p.m. at the Hecla Gym. Don’t miss this chance to get your holiday goodies and shop vendors for the perfect gift for anyone on your list. This year will also include a special appearance from Santa.

Veblen will hold its Santa Day on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Old School Mall starting at 2 p.m. Cookies and beverages will be served and there will be a backdrop set up for you to take your own pictures with Santa. Toy drawings will be held for the children who attend. It is a fun event for the whole family!

Santa Day activities at Lake City will begin on Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at Lake City Municipal.

Meet Santa Friday, Dec. 14, during Eden’s customer appreciation days. Visit local businesses for goodies throughout the day. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. at Club Eden with Santa scheduled to arrive at 7 p.m. Drawings will be held sponsored by the Eden Fire Department and local businesses.

On Saturday, Dec. 15, Pierpont will host it’s annual holiday celebration at Pont’s Pub & Grill. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. with kids crafts, treats, and coffee. Santa is set to arrive at 10:30 with drawings to follow. You must be present to win turkey drawings.
